Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer student for the 2023 Fall Semester to work in our St. John's office.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Supporting our team of Project Engineers with planning, cost, Project Change Notices (PCN's), Project Execution Plans (PEP's)
  • Writing reports, taking meeting minutes, filling documents, sending out meeting invites through Outlook
  • Additional administrative / research tasks maybe required
  • Coordinates small teams; develops skills of leadership with support from team members
  • Communicates with line managers highlighting issues and deficiencies
  • Assists Engineers to deliver to schedule, fully understand reasons for delay and assist in developing recovery plans
  • Alerts more senior project management personnel in the event of potential delays or change

 


Skills / Qualifications

 

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary Engineering Degree Program
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral in English
  • Ability to interact with Multidiscipline personnel in Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Subcontractors and Client representatives on project-related topics
  • Strong safety orientation
  • Team focused attitude
  • Proficient computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook
