Wood has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support delivery of engineering capital projects to a global pharmaceutical client based in Ware, Hertfordshire.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will report directly to the Discipline Focal Point / Lead Engineer and shall be responsible for executing electrical engineering activities (Concept, Front End Engineering Development, Technical Study & Detailed Design).

Responsibilities
  • Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract
  • Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems
  • Continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Carry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes and maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
  • Keep up to date with technical developments
  • National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
  • Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
  • Maintain good communication with the client and discipline filing system
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project


Skills / Qualifications

Essential
  • UK Bachelors Degree/HNC or equivalent with experienc e in the electrical engineering subject
  • Experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise
  • Highly experienced in site surveys and data gathering on brownfield projects
  • Experienced in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
  • Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs
  • Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
  • Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates
  • Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work
  • Competent in design safety / environmental requirements and procedures
