Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineer to work in our St. John's office, on large scale brownfield offshore energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensuring project schedules and client approved budgets are managed and met
  • Preparing detailed Cost, Time & Resource estimates based on client supplied work scopes
  • Ensure design, analysis and specifications are in accordance with applicable codes, governing statutory regulations, Wood procedures, offshore installation specific design philosophies and meet project objectives and industry best practice
  • Liaison with third party contractors and vendors in the procurement of materials and equipment
  • Operate in a multidiscipline environment to complete large scale projects for our clients
  • Adhering to all HSEQ requirements within the Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls discipline in accordance with Wood procedures and management systems
  • Commencing and checking of documentation including but not limited to design drawings, technical specifications, data sheets, supplier document register lists (SDRL's), and reports
  • Willingness to travelling offshore as required, for surveys and construction support

 


Skills / Qualifications

 

 

 

  • Engineering Degree and registered with the Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador is preferred, however a r elevant Technical diploma from a post-secondary institution will also be considered
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience on largescale energy projects
  • Must have excellent communication (written and verbal) skills in English, with the ability to engage with a variety of groups
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of high-quality work
  • Ability to successfully complete all required training and medical requirements, and testing related to offshore travel
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or authorized to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship
