Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently seeking expressino of interest applications for a Senior Planner with preferably Brownfield experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
Whilst this role can be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required.
Must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Planner will prepare, manage / review and report accurate project programmes in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle and in accomplishing project objectives .
Responsibilities / Duties
- Develop and m aintain cost and resource loaded baseline project plans and schedules using primarily Primavera P6 and other appropriate scheduling software
- Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements
- Provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements
- Produce and issue updates to project plans and schedules
- Produce and issue updates to project manpower requirements
- Assess and communicate critical path activities
- Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
- Monitor project progress status and progress (achievement of milestones), and analyse project performance in relation to planned performance
- Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required and support development and reporting of project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Provide guidance and support to subordinate project controls planning staff as required
- Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man - hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules
- Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
- Assist with audits to ensure compliance with relevant planning procedure
- Manage the Master Deliverables Register in line with the project controls system
- Production of weekly / monthly reports and s-curve for performance management
- Worked in a time pressured environment in relation to accu rately reporting daily progress
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree in relevant technical or business discipline or can be substituted by suitable industry experience
- Self-starter, required to lead and chair planning review meetings with Project Leadership Team and possess the ability to articulate changes / challenges within the plan
- Must have expert knowledge of manual and computerized project planning and scheduling techniques
- Knowledge and experience of engineering and construction projects in the oil and gas industry, preferably in both onshore and offshore environments
- Excellent computerised systems skills
- Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques
- Must be able to work within a collaborative team environment
- Good understanding of Cost Control, Estimating, Change control and Risk analysis
- Experience of shutdown planning would be an advantage
