Wood is currently recruiting for a Machinery Design Analyst to join our specialist team based in Kuala Lumpur. Wood has a unique world-class engineering capability in the fields of Vibration, Dynamics and Noise (VDN).

We demonstrate technical excellence in resolving the causes and effects of vibration in static equipment, structures and machinery providing engineering solutions and services improving the integrity and performance of our clients' facilities. This is a consulting role combining elements of business development and key account management and associated office based analysis. You will:
- Perform pulsation and vibration design studies (analysis) for new or modified reciprocating compressors, pumps, and piping systems API standards using company's proprietary and other commercial software
- Perform other non-pulsation related flow induced vibration analysis such as piping surge analysis
- Assist with investigations and provide high quality technical input for relevant plant failures and trouble-shooting projects including field visits
- Provide cost effective engineering solutions in detailed technical written reports summarizing analysis findings and recommendations to prevent and mitigate vibration problems
- Establish strong relationships with clients to resolve their technical vibration and dynamics problems and foster ongoing relationships to ensure future work which may include client training presentations
- Support project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting and project control
At this time this role is open to Malaysian nationals or those with valid work rights or Visa in place for Malaysia to allow you to work lawfully in the country without company sponsorship.

- Bachelor Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering - applicants who hold a Masters or higher qualification are encouraged to apply
- 1 - 3 years of recent relevant engineering industry experience ideally in a consultancy focused organisation
- Strong English literacy and report writing skills are a key part of this role
- Keen eye for detail and critical thinking ability to interpret technical information quickly to enable building models and analysing data
- Desirable experience or passion will include an interest in vibration, performance monitoring, reliability and machinery design
