Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is recruiting for an Instrument Engineer for a client site in Geismar, LA (this is ideally a junior to mid level position). Local candidates only, as no relocation assistance or per diem are offered.
Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.
Client site responsibilities entail: Develops funding requests, budget estimates, spending forecast, project schedule, project justifications and communicates with project owner (Unit Operations) to ensure alignment on scope of work. Develops project bid package, leads job walks with third party construction teams, and make recommendation for award of execution. I&E lead on assigned projects and work with assigned designer to complete IFA/IFC drawings. Daily job walk for projects in execution phase. Review IFA and IFC drawings and red line as required to support detailed engineering activities. Update instrument and electrical drawings to reflect the "As Found" condition. Define quality control required for projects and develop construction execution plan. Works with client construction coordinators to perform constructability reviews to ensure IFC package is ready for construction phase. Participate in weekly safety job walk around the facilities to promote safety awareness. Participate in weekly Capital Project Department meetings. Participate in monthly budget forecast. Skills / Qualifications
Successful candidate will possess:
- 5+ years' experience in Instrument Design Engineering related to the oil and gas industry
- Bachelor of Engineering from an Accredited College or University (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering Degree preferred)
NCEES Professional Engineer License (preferred)
NCEES Engineer-In-Training (preferred)
Climbing stairs, ladders, and lifting up to 25 lbs
