The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell's Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

This role of Maintenance Engineer for Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Planning in TAO provides quality, fit for purpose Inspection, CM and PM plans including site preparations, parts, recommended improvements, vendor requirements, contacts, support equipment and resources in the correct task sequence for efficient scheduling and cost-effective execution.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Inspection Plans, Corrective and Preventative Maintenance plans for Routine Maintenance in compliance with AMS ME Practices and in alignment with Planning, Finance and C&P processes.
  • Manage CUI preparation and reduce backlog for inspection routine and corrective maintenance, escalation when any risk or roadblocks for resolution, perform to standing Pernis planning KPI's
  • Oversee that Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) activities must be aligned with the approved maintenance and inspection strategies.
  • Create, compile, and keep track of execution folders:
    • Isometrics
    • PEFS
    • Drawings of equipment/pipelines
    • Product information tab
    • Information about scope (W-IMS)
  • You work closely with the work planner in Pernis to create the execution folder.
  • Determine the square meters of painting per equipment/pipeline.
  • Provide inventory for the specified scope based on temperature and material (W-IMS).
  • Create a budget estimate (10% estimate) that is needed for the execution of the project
  • Keep track of the costs (base scope and discovery scope) during the project
  • Finalize and archive (quality) documents in the relevant systems


Job Purpose & Accountabilities:

The main accountabilities of the TAO- Technical Specialist for Corrosion Under Insulation CUI) Planning provides quality, fit for purpose Corrective and PM plans including site preparations, parts, recommended improvements, vendor requirements, contacts, support equipment and resources in the correct task sequence for efficient scheduling and cost-effective execution. Accountable for the execution of the Maintenance Work Process.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of CUI Maintenance plans for in compliance with AMS ME Practices, Global and Local Standards and in alignment with Planning, Finance and C&P processes.
  • Manage Inspection and Corrosion activities as required. Develop comprehensive plans with site Safe Work Practices and HSSE guidelines, and include all materials, manpower, work sequencing, rental equipment & tools, and entering requisitions for materials and services. Knowledge of routine/non-routine maintenance activities and prepare comprehensive work packs for inspection and repair of static equipment like vessels, columns, heat exchangers, valves-PRV/PSV, Piping, Reactors, furnaces, boilers etc., that may involve corrosion.
  • GSAP/Blueprint proficient, vetted and verified by SCT planning supervisor
  • Maintain plan quality performance expectations less than 2% rework frequency
  • Deliver accurate/high-quality plans as per SCT performance planning KPI's
  • Manage stakeholder relationships through proficient communication both written and verbal to attain information and documentation in a timely manner
  • Competent Cost awareness: Communication of significant plan cost increases to budget holder, including variances ($$) from initial cost estimates through senior planner involvement
  • Participate and comply with all safety programs, SOP's, SWP's, plan standards
  • Assist with the continuous improvement and implementation of standardized work processes for effective cost and budget control
  • Stay current with mandatory training in Shell E-Learnings and additional unit and facility requirements
  • Ensure that work requests are sufficiently well defined, and justified
  • Ensure optimum plant availability against optimum maintenance costs
  • Ensure effective utilization of resources from a perspective of safety, costs, and timing
  • Ensure an updated and accurate backlog, and accurate history reporting
  • Shared accountability for coaching operators and crafts in the maintenance work process.
  • Investigating and analysis of PM/CM work request to identify the true cause of the problem and prepare work orders with the detailed tasks to repair the damage with as much as detailed information required to complete the job effectively including procedures, sketches, specifications, or drawings deemed necessary.
  • Planning of end-to-end work orders to enable efficient scheduling and ensure compliance of executable work orders
  • Improving productivity by ensuring the resource, special tool, material, and service requirements availability before the job begins
  • Shall be able to demonstrate the capabilities of supporting remote assets with their routine maintenance planning. Develop work planning through SAP with clear understanding of all required information and documentation to execute a job in the field.
  • Clear understanding of maintenance strategies for preventive maintenance and their implementation in CMMS.
  • Awareness of the statutory, safety and regulatory compliances for offshore asset operations to enable work planning for these scopes cater to the specific requirement
  • Understand the concept of work clustering for complex multi-discipline scopes using scheduling tools like Primavera to be able to optimize timeline for a shutdown or campaign.
