The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell's Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

This role of Technical Specialist is for Mechanical Work Preparation/Work Packs - Major Rotating Equipment is intended to help the Major Maintenance and Construction Engineering Team in work planning and implementing the standard work packs for preventive/corrective/TA maintenance of Rotating Equipment and Packages.

This includes included remote preparation, material requirements, rental equipment requirements, manpower and resources with the appropriate task sequencing necessary to allow for the efficient scheduling and execution of Rotating equipment activities. Primary interfaces include the Projects, Constructions, Maintenance and Turnaround Supervisor, Field Supervisor, Operations, Engineering, Trade Specific Specialist and Schedulers. Can actively contribute to integration within services department and optimizing the work processes.

Contribute to quality and productivity of work preparation so that mechanical work is timely, cost-efficient and practically feasible. Reviewing all mechanical work packages. Register, distribute, calculate and handle additional/less work for the mechanical work.

Purpose & Accountabilities
  • Responsible for preparing MRE work for Pernis so that it can be carried out safely and efficiently. Primary responsibility in preparing/developing work plan with comprehensive work packs from overhaul reports, maintenance reports, general task list, equipment specific task lists, spare part list, equipment drawings, circuit diagrams, P&IDs, operation and maintenance manuals of OEMs, etc., for heavy duty rotary equipment like engines, pumps, compressors, turbines etc. for various operating units as per Shell Standards.
  • Responsible for translating scope into a complete plan of execution with required materials, resources and a corresponding cost estimate.
  • Contributes to an effective table-top meeting prior to a machine overhaul
  • Prevents the buildup of backlog by preparing work on time.
  • Active application of the AMS-ME procedures to the planning process for the discipline in question and propagating this to fellow planners.
  • Controls pre-scheduling relationship between BSD and BFD for relevant discipline in GSAP and impact on the schedule.
  • Ensure proper data quality for MRE in GSAP
  • Ensure that costs are booked correctly and that workorders are financially closed in time.
  • Contribute to the MeMi (scope change) process for outsourced work.
  • Look for and realize cost optimizations.
  • Gives input to the Major Maintenance Planner with regards to the performance of the MRE Planning Process.
  • Gives input to the budgeting cycle of MRE.
  • Manages documentation and administration of all MRE prepared and delivered Inspections and transactions (e.g. mail correspondence, quotations, etc.).
  • Job hazard assessment, setting out risks anticipated required while performing tasks and creating Permit to work.
  • Planning of end-to-end work orders to enable efficient scheduling and ensure compliance of executable work orders.
  • First level diagnosis of damage history, determining the failure mode based on anomaly reports and information given in corrective maintenance work request/ notification.
  • Improving productivity by ensuring the resource, special tool, material, and service requirements availability before the job begins.
  • Constantly engage with site maintenance leads, original equipment manufacturers, vendors and modify the work packs as recommended/required by the site maintenance personnel.
  • Anticipate & plan for mandatory spares, tools and tackles and manpower required for rotating equipment based on the information extracted from maintenance manuals, collate any additional information about Instruments & its spares, if required from the vendors and accommodate the information in the work pack.
  • Develop work planning through SAP with clear understanding of all required information and documentation to execute a job in the field.
  • Understand the concept of work clustering for complex multi-discipline scopes using scheduling tools like Primavera to be able to optimize timeline for a shutdown or campaign.
