Wood is recruiting for a Technical Assistant join its Consulting team on a full-time staff basis. Wood recognises the importance of work life balance and is happy to have this role be a hybrid position with location flexible across the UK.

The Role
This role will provide support to the Integrity Solutions team in the UK both from an administrative and technical point of view.
Involvement in ongoing and new projects will be part of this position, working with the engineering team to identify improvements to task execution to enable the team to work efficiently.
Typical responsibilities
Our Clients and Projects
Our Clients cover a range of industries, from traditional oil and gas through to chemical processing, pharmaceutical, wind energy, Direct Air Carbon Capture and hydrogen and CO2 transportation and beyond. We provide ongoing annual support to long-term clients, consultancy to Projects and Operations businesses as well as fast-response studies for our Client's immediate concerns. The successful candidate would join the existing team of Technical Assistants in providing professional support and advice to the Integrity Solutions team.

The Role

Typical responsibilities
- Assisting with the retrieval and collation of technical and operational data
- Assisting with the development and population of Asset Registers
- Assisting with the compilation of Written Schemes of Examination
- Assisting with the completion and issue of inspection work packs
- Assisting with the development of asset integrity management documentation and reports
- Supporting the preparation of inspection and maintenance routines
- Assisting with management of information and maintaining databases

Expected:
- Diligent and consistent in the application of an established process
- Professional attitude
- Ability to work in a team, establishing relationships with appropriate stakeholders
- Enthusiastic and keen to learn and progress within the role
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Teams
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Minimum of standard grades or equivalent, a qualification in engineering/technical subject is highly preferable
- In particular, we are looking for the following skills / background:
- A technical qualification
- A basic understanding of engineering terms
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, including isometrics and P&IDs, and the ability to amend/revise using CAD software
- Familiarity with inspection / integrity documentation such as inspection work packs, written schemes of examination
Desirable:
- Proficiency in the use of CAD
- Experience in a similar role
