The Industry Business Development Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within a functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
  • Lead the team in all aspects of account growth including strategy development, integrated account planning, opportunity identification, and value communication for assigned business vertical(s).
  • Define entitlement and identify areas to penetrate and grow profitability
  • Interface directly with the marketing organization to drive high value solutions leveraging the company portfolio
  • Serve as a conduit for solutions detailed understanding of customer's business model and how company's products and services develop and deliver added value to the customer
  • Build customer relationships and communication at all levels
  • Drive At the Customer, For The Customer (ACFC) programs with key focus on deepening customer relationships and direct demand generation
  • Matrix with existing functional and P&L teams to achieve growth objectives
  • Structure, price, negotiate and close deals
  • Successfully interface with cross-functional teams as required
  • Actively participate in community events with the customer
  • Utilize six sigma tools & methodologies to drive improvements in key processes for the customer

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical), Biology, or Chemistry, or in any related discipline from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a technical sales position in the Water Treatment/Water Process industry)
  • At least 5 additional years of experience in direct technical sales (Water Treatment / Water Process Industry) in the specific industry vertical as assigned.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Ability and willingness to travel within territory, as required
  • Ability and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as required
  • Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, manufacturing and /or commercial facilities, etc., as required
  • Ability and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as required
  • Ability and willingness to comply with stringent customer site(s) access requirements, as required
  • Basic Computer Skills including MS Office, and other software programs within a Windows environment
  • To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a company owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit to a check of your driving record.

  • Solid experience in business development or building growth plans is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of technical sales in the relevant industry vertical
