Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Planning Engineer to join our Process & Energy Team. You will support within our Stockton team where we recognise the value of hybrid working.

The Role

As a Lead Planner, you will be responsible for providing a complete planning service to both project and corporate management for Proposal and Project Operations, this includes supervision of the planning team.

  • Review and understand all relevant project documentation including scope of services, project execution plan, proposal/project schedule (including manpower projection plan), WBS, conditions of contract
  • Development, maintenance and monitoring of schedules and associated documents
  • Reporting to client and internal management
  • Produce, review and provide Earned value data
  • Apply change control measures
  • Implement the planning systems as defined within the departmental procedures
  • Review and approval of subcontractor schedules
  • Promotion of planning best practices against industry standards
  • Providing on the job training and guidance for junior project controls/planning engineers
  • Maintaining close liaison with project personnel to maintain satisfactory working relationships and to identify potential problem areas
  • Assessment of utilisation of the team in conjunction with the Process and Energy Functional Project controls manager

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree or HNC / HND preferred, ideally in an engineering discipline
  • Proven experience within Petrochemical or similar industries
  • Proactive and collaborative approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of earned value analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
