The Role

Responsibilities
- Review and understand all relevant project documentation including scope of services, project execution plan, proposal/project schedule (including manpower projection plan), WBS, conditions of contract
- Development, maintenance and monitoring of schedules and associated documents
- Reporting to client and internal management
- Produce, review and provide Earned value data
- Apply change control measures
- Implement the planning systems as defined within the departmental procedures
- Review and approval of subcontractor schedules
- Promotion of planning best practices against industry standards
- Providing on the job training and guidance for junior project controls/planning engineers
- Maintaining close liaison with project personnel to maintain satisfactory working relationships and to identify potential problem areas
- Assessment of utilisation of the team in conjunction with the Process and Energy Functional Project controls manager
Skills / Qualifications
- Degree or HNC / HND preferred, ideally in an engineering discipline
- Proven experience within Petrochemical or similar industries
- Proactive and collaborative approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong understanding of earned value analysis
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated, energetic and tenacious
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willing to share information and develop junior staff
