What's the role?
As Cost Estimating & Control Engineer at Shell Chemicals Park Moerdijk, you contribute to achieving an affordable and competitive portfolio of projects (OPEX, CAPEX). You are responsible for delivery of consistent cost estimates, cost control and continuous improvement of tools and processes.
You will be part of the Moerdijk Cost & Contracts team, set up to support an ambitious Energy Transition and Growth program, whilst maintaining operational excellence for the existing asset base. The team is responsible for financial planning, cost and counter estimating as well as cost and contract engineering for project and maintenance, turnaround and construction (MTAC) capital (CAPEX) as well as operating expenses (OPEX), at one of Europe's largest chemical facilities.

Accountabilities:
- Cost estimation and budgeting of project and MTAC capital as well as operating expenses
- Delivery of credible project cost forecasts in close cooperation with project teams on a monthly basis and on a weekly basis for turnarounds
- Earned Value / Value Of Work Done is to be reported on a monthly basis in line with finance reporting requirements
- Delivery performance indicators (KPI's) in line with standards
- Perform ad hoc problem solving and analytical requests from internal and external stakeholders
- Strong prioritization skills, flexibility and client centered focus are essential, it is expected to simultaneously manage different projects and cooperate with different teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement of tools and processes
What we need from you?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering
- Highly motivated, digitally savvy with commerical acumen, focused on value adding work
- Skilled in MS Excel, experience with PowerBI, Power Query and / or Power Apps is preferred
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both in writing and verbal to communicate with budget holders and other stakeholders
- Experience with project controls / project services and site experiece are preferred
- Strong team player with excellent analytical, organizational and communicative skills and you are able to work under pressure
- Ability to develop innovative methods to increase productivity and effectivity
