Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently searching for a
Field Project Engineer for an assignment in Lake Charles, LA. The Field Engineer will provide advanced constructability input to engineering by optimizing construction knowledge and experience to reduce construction costs; improve quality, safety and productivity; shorten construction schedules; and reduce or eliminate construction inefficiencies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide jobsite construction technical support to the Wood Module Fabrication engineering team, as needed.
- Support project controls in cross check of quantities installed versus claimed by the Module Fabrication Contractor.
- Steward timely response by others, to ALL Module Fabrication RFIs.
- Support Module Fabrication constructability exercises as needed .
- Support delivery of module construction per schedule. Identify and report schedule slip.
- Contribute discipline experience to WOOD Module Fabrication Team.
- Prepare reports as needed and requested.
- Support Cross check of Contractor Schedule claimed progress versus actual.
- Support control of all material movements as needed.
- When scope changes are identified, inform necessary parties and complete the necessary
change management documentation as directed. - Support Quality Program.
- Support Preservation Program Compliance by Module Fabricator.
- Support Module Fabrication HSE Program with demonstrated participation and actions.
- Participate in audits and incident investigations as required.
- Assisting with the delivery and timely execution of the project/contract/service and ensure the
Contractor meets his contract requirements and deliverables.
Skills / Qualifications - Preferred 5 years practical construction experience..
- Have a broad knowledge of construction discipline, technical specifications and associated processes. Self-starter.
- Strong oral and written English language communicator.
- Strong in Excel, along with intermediate user level skill with other MS Office Products.
- Substantial experience of interpreting discipline documentation.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies
(HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS) - Good interpersonal organizational, communication and team building skills.
- Work week will mostly be a minimum of 40 hours, with 50+ hours possible as required and preapproved.
