Below are some key responsibilities and duties: 
  • Basic knowledge in piping layout and its essential features
  • Understand the company design basis for the criticality of the piping and prepare the stress critical line list
  • Provide expert input in pipe stress analysis and design of piping systems to Company engineering studies, FEED, Detail engineering and EPC projects
  • Asses the loop requirement during FEED layout studies
  • Conduct pipe stress analysis for critical lines in piping/Pipeline systems as per ASME codes (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8) using CAESAR II software
  • Hands on experience in non-metallic piping design and stress analysis i.e.: GRE and HDPE piping
  • Perform pipe stress analysis for different equipment like turbine, Compressors, Pumps, tanks, exchangers, heaters, columns, etc.
  • Perform formal manual stress analysis calculations when required
  • Perform evaluation of Nozzle Loads and Flange Leakage for ASME and API flange joints
  • Hands on experiences in Nozzle pro calculation  
  • Resolve high secondary stresses in piping
  • Check for Vibration in pipes and resolves as per Energy Institute Guidelines
  • Selection of spring hangers, snubbers, struts for pipe supports
  • Prepare stress isometric drawings with all necessary details which can be used to transfer the design details to layout and civil/Structural teams, Provide pipe loading information to Civil/Structure
  • Ensure to extract engineering data from CAD drawings as well as computer models
  • Coordinate with design team to select and design pipe supports elements as needed
  • Support lead piping & pipeline engineers to develop and review pipe reinforcement parameters where required as per ASME code
  • Develop detailed data sheets and requisitions for pipe stress equipment and materials like Spring supports and Expansion Joints (Metallic and non-metallic)
  • Interact frequently with various engineering disciplines and departments in collecting inputs and share outputs as understandable
  • Provide magnitude of hydrostatic and various operating/occasional loads acting on restraints like guides, hold-down and axial stop type supports
  • Carry out review, approve and or supervise study and design work using Company and Client design methods, standards and data, to a high quality and in accordance with Project requirements
  • Prepare complete documentation of the stress analysis and support design.
  • Participates in reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data from suppliers
  • Ensure that Company and Client's Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are compiled in design
  • Actively support business development through participation in professional conferences, participating in proposal preparation and estimating the man-hour based on activities
  • Frequent travel to site, if required in collecting site data in designing brownfield type projects.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in diverse roles in Design, Consulting and / or EPC project environment
  • Expert in static and dynamic pipe stress analysis methodologies and hands on experiences
  • Expertise in analysis of complex piping / pipeline systems (i.e. high temperature, buried, and vibrating systems etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of ASME engineering codes and standards relevant to Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals, offshore and onshore and in both piping and pipeline design and analysis
  • Likelihood of failure assessments based on EI guidelines for various dynamic loads for critical piping system
  • Proficiency in CAESAR II, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Familiar with ADNOC, DP, Shell Engineering Standards would added advantage
  • Knowledge of Equipment layout Development and Piping layout design
  • Knowledge of 3D model review software and ability to participate in 3D model reviews and closeouts
  • Hands on experiences in participation of HSE studies like HAZOP and HAZID
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, coaching and collaboration skills
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
  • FPSO / Offshore experience is preferred
