Internship Projects and Responsibilities:
Advanced Controls Center of Excellence
Investigation of the problem of constrained elastica in the context of drilling mechanics.
Development of model predictive control solutions for time-delayed autonomous underground systems.
Validation and benchmarking of developments with traditional Proportional-Integral or robust controllers.
Robust analysis of algorithms.
Signal Processing Center of Excellence
Development algorithms data compression and acoustic/electromagnetic telemetry systems.
Development of machine learning applications for PDE-solving, image processing and anomaly detections.
Development of inversion algorithms for geophysical interpretation.
Sensor Physics Research Team - Engineering/Physics
Conduct literature research on subject matter topic
Design testing device and workflow
Conduct experiments and collect and analyze data
Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Sensor Physics Research Team - Electromagnetics
Low-frequency EM applications in formation evaluation.
Development of FEM, FDTD or IE Forward modelling algorithms.
Planning and executing field tests related to sensor system developments.
Sensor Physics Research Team - Acoustics
Development of acoustic array signal processing algorithms.
Ultrasonic acoustic modeling in downhole environment and data processing
Requirements:
- Postgraduate students, majored in, but not limited to Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering
- Proficient in CAD software
- Proficient in numerical analysis and coding with Matlab /Python/C++
- Enthusiastic with hands on work and building new products
- Independent and proactive
