The VP of Global Account Management owns the client account at a global level and is responsible for developing and owning the business strategy for their specific client. These strategies will deliver revenue growth, sustainable competitive advantage, build market share, improve stakeholder value, and improve the client relationship. They are responsible for leading the revenue growth of the specified account through both contract optimization and new business acquisition processes. They provide guidance and connectivity between our matrix organization and the client. They are accountable for delivering account business objectives per the account plan, including revenues, profitability and other agreed metrics. In cooperation with the Geozone and Product lines, the role will create and maintain a long-term strategic account plan to drive growth in terms of revenue and profitability to meet agreed targets. Where the account is of a significant size or geographical distribution they may also have interface with Geozone Sales Account Managers, responsible for the same client.

  • Demonstrate effective Safety leadership at all times to reinforce the organization's commitment to safety performance

  • Ensure opportunities are entered into the Salesforce system and communicated across the global WFT organization
  • Regularly monitors competitor activity within the account and has a comprehensive understanding of the market share both geographically and in Product lines
  • Monitors submitted tenders for the account and participates in the development of strategic tender submissions throughout the Geozones
  • In cooperation with the Product Line and Geozone sales teams, they support the global product commercialization program with activities to drive adoption of the strategic products into their specified account
  • Partner with local sales leadership teams to develop pursuit plans, targeting the top identified opportunities on the horizon for Weatherford with the client within the next 6 months out to 1-2 years. Assigning relevant local product line technical sales resources to the client to work on pursuit plan.
  • Monitors and tracks customer rig counts and production activity including new concessions
  • Tracks won and lost tenders and reports on performance on a quarterly basis as a minimum

  • Builds and presents the Quarterly Account Review to the organization
  • Engages multiple levels of the key client organizations throughout their decision-making matrix and strives to successfully execute global level strategy.
  • Establish a cadence for reviewing QHSE metrics with clients Corporate QHSE leaders.
  • Regularly communicate with internal Weatherford clients, including Segment Presidents, Product Line Leaders, Geozone Leadership

  • Effective use of the Sales Technologies identifies the top 10 strategic projects for the Account and engages the Geozone Sales teams to build an effective and successful pursuit plan
  • Provides close personal and hands on supervision of all strategic opportunities for the account and takes personal responsibility for the final negotiation and close out phases of strategic tenders
  • Monitors revenue and profitability against targets and takes appropriate actions to address revenue and profitability gaps
  • Monitors client payment terms and performance and takes necessary actions/discussions with the client to ensure cash flow performance is maintained and any disputes resolved
  • Build local and global client revenue targets/forecasts and ensure targeted Return on Investments (ROI's) are being met

  • Accountable for the development of the Account strategy taking into consideration market conditions, taking advantage of any opportunities and mitigating any risks
  • Organizational collaboration - between account management, tech. sales, CTM, PL, PS&L, Service Delivery and GBSC

  • Drive the Geozone Sales Organizations to host Weatherford technical presentations and events.
  • Manage and coach personnel through visible leadership of the performance management, supports the talent review processes and succession planning tools


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant oilfield or business discipline. MBA or MSc in Engineering is a plus
  • 18+ years of sales, product line, commercial operations, operational and country management experience
  • 10+ years in leadership positions
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; Effective communicator of commercial strategy & operational execution
  • Demonstrated resilience, persistence and creative passion in building trust with all stakeholders, particularly when driving change - processes and people
  • Demonstrated development of contracts, negotiations and execution
  • Ability to relate and influence at all levels within own and client organizations
  • Proven skills in sales, operations, and product line management
  • Global experience in profit and loss (Financial Acumen) and management of countries / areas / regions (Culturally sensitivity)
