Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently sourcing an experienced Welding Inspector to join the Wood team in Manila.

  • Review and comment on subcontractor welding/NDT procedure & qualifications (such as welders lists, NDT operator lists, welding consumables management procedure, piping/structural steel certificates, material traceability procedure, Welding Summary List and Welding traceability Reports)
  • Perform witness, inspection & surveillance checks and continually assess subcontractor performance on Welding/ NDT related activities
  • Ensuring the quality of the work in accordance with the CQCP, approved ITPs, and procedures within assigned areas
  • Issue status and trend reports as necessary and requested by Site Management providing suggestions on how to improve quality of welding/ NDT activities
  • Prepare and ensure timely close out of punch lists items in accordance with the approved procedures
  • Support completion team in the preparation/ review of Turn Over dossiers

Skills / Qualifications

  • A demonstrable commitment to safety in the workplace; leading by example
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Oil & Gas industry materials and equipment of same, e.g., mechanical and electrical equipment, instrumentation, structural steel, piping materials
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years in Welding Inspection
  • Attention to detail, commitment to a "Right - First - Time" ethos
  • Good coordination, interpersonal skills
  • Good written skills, ability to present data in a clear and concise manner
  • Self - motivating, well organized, resourceful and proactive
  • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude and a commitment to
    meeting and maintaining compliance
