Overview / Responsibilities Wood's Minerals & Metals division currently has an exciting opportunity for a
Finance Manager, to join our M&M business in Oakville, Ontario. This position will be hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days in the Oakville office.
This position has dual reporting responsibilities to both the finance and operational leaders in the business. Business partnering is a key element of the role in providing financial information to support decision-making; this includes providing analysis, insight and views in respect of the financial performance of the business, to be seen as a trusted advisor and to add value that will assist in decision making.
The ideal candidate will have had prior responsibility in managing and reporting on profit and loss, working capital, and in certain cases, will also involve further balance sheet responsibilities for the applicable business. The other main aspects of the role include internal and external reporting, financial forecasting, and budgeting. This person will be responsible for managing and developing a small team, ensuring that all Group Finance requirements are adhered to and that any financial risks are understood and mitigated as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities: - Provide financial and analytical support to management.
- Ensure the accuracy of monthly financial results and prepare reports to management as required.
- Complete analysis of information to help drive effective decision making and operational success.
- Undertake the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Ensure that an effective control environment exists through compliance with all Group and Mining control frameworks, policies, and procedures as relevant. Maintain a current knowledge of corporate accounting policies, financial reporting requirements, and provide related direction and support to management and staff.
- Provide input to and review of proposals to clients including contract terms.
- Participate in monthly internal project review meetings with other management.
- Engage with tax, treasury and other corporate groups and ensure compliance with all taxation, foreign currency and other requirements for bids and awarded work.
- Review client invoices monthly, for accuracy and compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Responsible for internal and external audits as directed, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely information upon request.
- Contribute as required to corporate and Mining reporting and improvement initiatives.
- Manage and develop small finance team.
- Manage financial and internal services arrangements for intercompany business activities.
Skills / Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
- Must be a CPA (Certified Professional Accountant) or in process of writing CFE (Common Final Examination).
- Will have between 7 - 10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience; ideally will have worked in an EPCM/Engineering environment.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience managing a finance/accounting team
- Must have hands-on experience with a large ERP system; direct experience with Oracle is considered an asset
- Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organization; Able to present to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability paying close attention to detail to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Advanced user of Excel (Pivot tables, formulas, graphs, v-lookups, links between spreadsheets)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with track record of delivering on time.
- Self-starter, proactive and positive attitude
- Will possess solid interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to both Finance and non-finance personnel.
- Authorization to lawfully work in Canada, without sponsorship from Wood, is required.
