The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Project Control Manager to be assigned to major project reporting to the Project Director, leading a team of planning engineers, cost engineers and document controllers. You will be responsible for all project control functions through the engineering and procurement phases, and transition through to construction.

The Project Control Manager is a key member of the project team providing analysis, forecasts and recommendations to project and discipline management.

Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Studying and understanding all relevant project documents and conditions.
  • Defining and establish job orientated project control procedures and control mechanisms.
  • Defining primary job objectives clearly at project and departmental management levels by highlighting schedule and cost requirements.
  • Organising and directing the activities of the project control team.
  • Provide time and cost trend information, analysis and forecasts.
  • Attend regular progress meetings.
  • Review actual site progress against planned progress, particularly with regard to manpower
  • Monitoring and comparing both schedule and cost against baselines and targets and relaying conclusions such that management control action is alerted at the right time.
  • Reviewing overall job status with cost/planning engineers and management and, at least monthly, recommend corrective action if necessary.
  • Liaising with other departments at all meetings relative to project operations, to ensure that information affecting schedule and cost is continually up-dated.
  • Co-ordination of the final job statistics and analysis of the effectiveness of procedures for possible improvement on future projects.
  • Providing feedback on key project issues to Department Management team on a timely basis.

  • Substantial experience in planning, progress measurement, cost control, change management and document control on Large EPCm projects, including construction management, which should have been gained in the refinery, petrochemicals or oil and gas industries.
  • Degree or HNC/HND preferred, in an Engineering discipline although relevant experience or related qualification will also be considered .
  • A proven track record within the Oil and Gas, or Petrochemical industry.
  • Must have a strong understanding of planning, progress measurement, cost and change control.
