We are recruiting a Senior Operations Engineer for our client based in Aberdeen.

This is a full time, staff role.

Purpose of Role:

This is a senior position, providing operations support to the Operations Superintendent in Aberdeen, with particular responsibility for the management, planning and co-ordination and execution of all ongoing and future work-scopes on the assigned asset.

The position holder will periodically deputise for the Operations Superintendent. It is expected that the position holder will develop the capability to be promoted to this position after a period of job familiarisation, based on their current industrial knowledge and skill set.

Duties & Responsibilities to include:

The position requires the efficient performance of the under noted, however the list is non definitive and the position holder may also be required to perform further tasks within their areas of expertise.

 

SHE

Co-ordinate offshore activities relating to hydrocarbon processing, water injection and utility systems in accordance with company SHEMS, ISSOW and associated procedures to ensure they are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that environmental limits are not exceeded

Participate in offshore incident investigations & ensure all Synergi actions investigated, executed and closed out.

Co-ordinate the ongoing risk assessment processes relating to the asset. Work with other departments to implement permanent solutions to remove short-term risk management mitigation measures such as ORA/RAFs and DAF, including hosting the regular onshore/offshore review meetings.

Participate in HAZOPS and HAZIDs as required.

Champion a culture of Process Safety excellence on company installation(s).

Is fully visible, spending time with the offshore workforce to demonstrate Safety as a core value and Process Safety as paramount.

Align, involve and empower the whole operations workforce supporting an asset (or assets) in the identification and management of MAH risks and Process Safety Hazards.

Discuss SHE aspects with the relevant stakeholders on a daily basis and take a leading role in working towards an incident free workplace.

Hold a role in the onshore Emergency Response team

Production Operations

Liaise with OIMs and Supervisors to provide support and direction to offshore operations in order to ensure continuity of Safe, Steady, Reliable oil and gas production and water injection.

Co-ordinate actions arising from the daily Asset Morning Call with all the key stakeholders, ensuring that these are followed up as effectively and efficiently.

Troubleshooting as required in support of offshore production operations

Work together with offshore and other onshore departments to discuss opportunities to maximise platform efficiency. Ensure that costs are managed to deliver the best possible business outcome.

Co-ordinate the 90 day tactical plan; allocate bed space to activities which add most value to company

Monitor and control all hydrocarbon production, subsea facilities and utility systems on allocated asset and act as primary focal point for resolution of issues.

Co-ordinate with offshore and onshore teams to plan the start-up and integration of new projects.

Liaise with other installations and control centres involved in the operation of pipeline systems e.g. inter-field, third party and SVT lines

Ensure that Operational POSMs are up to date and work with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure that they are relevant and being used, especially after plant has been modified or replaced.

Highlight potential future operational requirements on existing assets working with relevant stakeholders to ensure that this is executed before production / water injection constraints are faced.

Previous and relevant offshore experience on fixed facilities

Understanding and application to relevant Safety at Work requirements, industry safety management systems and Safety case obligations

Strong organisational skills and ability to screen activity and prioritise actions

Demonstrate proactive safety leadership & promote Safety Excellence

React rapidly to unplanned situations and provide short-term solutions using appropriate MOC controls

Support an open communications climate - both onshore and offshore

Establish a short term (1-2 years) outlook on field operability, identify challenges, rank criticality and work with appropriate parties to deliver solutions

Co-ordinate, plan, monitor and control all activities within remit

Develop understanding commercial and financial issues and endeavour to control all works within budget and schedule

Ability to influence personnel and teams in a positive manner.

Preferred

Candidates should hold a minimum of a HNC in a relevant discipline or equivalent vocational qualifications.

Multi discipline experienced

Experience in an onshore/offshore supervisory capacity
