Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently looking to add a Project Engineer who will assist and support delivery of complex automated control system projects within cost, time scale and quality constraints. Ensure the project fully delivers against agreed customer requirements, specifications and expectations. Understands the technical challenges in a project and liaises between the Project Manager, if applicable, the Customer and the Technical Delivery Team.

Whilst this role can be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required.

Responsibilities to include but not limited to completing the following tasks:
  • Monitors project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management
  • Helps to determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements; reviewing bids
  • Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates
  • Confirms product performance by continual evaluation
  • To assist in the production of FMEAs and Risk Assessments, including Machinery RA and Installation RAMS
  • Helps to determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
  • Assists in maintaining project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
  • Assist with controlling project costs, by monitoring expenditures and administering contractor contracts
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulations


Skills / Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and BTEC / City and Guilds or
  • HNC / HND in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or
  • Equivalent experience in an applicable role
  • Microsoft Office
  • Microsoft Project
  • Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical designs is advantageous
