Principal Piping Designer - Aberdeen Based

Wood Upstream is currently recruiting Principal Piping Design services with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to be part of our Offshore Aberdeen Engineering Hub.

This is a multi-client and multi-discipline engineering and design team looking to grow within the Piping teams.

Scope of services required:
  • Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and client and projects standards
  • Assist with the constructability review, measurements, installation check and level surveys
  • Assist the subfunction team to plan and develop detailed design documents and drawings from specifications
  • Carry out work activities in accordance with estimated design man hours so as to achieve project / company expectations
  • Review appropriate design documents generated

You will also:
  • Assess risks and scope of studies required by reviewing technical documents specifications, P&IDs, calculation notes, drawings, etc.
  • Ensure engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, with correct interpretation and implementation of all piping CAD and system.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • A full understanding of the materials and methods normally used in their discipline
  • An understanding of related engineering principles and practices
  • Capable of interpreting key documents including; engineering standards, piping material specifications, P&IDs and Line Lists
  • Technically oriented, mechanically inclined, good at mathematics
  • Talented at translating intangible concepts into hands-on project plans
  • Training and diversified experience in the field of activity is required
  • Competent user of CAD/D softwaretion in engineering discipline

  • Minimum ISCED level 5 short-cycle tertiary education in engineering discipline
