Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Construction Lead to work in our Clients office, reporting to the Wood Reading office. The role will be to provide Construction support to a decarbonisation project based in the North East of England.
Workscope
- Deliver Construction activities in line with the Construction Excellence Framework
- Demonstrate HSSE leadership in line with company expectations
- Drive safety leadership and promote safe delivery of multi-discipline work scopes
- Assessing and feeding back the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuous improvement
- Feedback to the engineering & design teams to enhance design and make recommendations to reduce risk, optimise cost & schedule and incorporate safe working practices, where appropriate
- Apply construction experience to the definition, planning, and execution of the scope
- Carry out reviews of documentation to ensure construction requirements are met and the designs are capable of installation without harm to the installers or the built environment
- Reviewing engineering design documents and provide feedback for all aspects of constructability
- Providing guidance on design schemes and sequencing the work
- Attendance at design reviews to provide construction advice and input
- Lead the pipeline construction effort to ensure delivery to meet cost and schedule milestones
- Conduct desktop and site surveys, as required, for tie-ins and modifications to existing facilities
- Preparation of survey reports
- Provide schedule and resource projections for all scopes of work through to start-up
- Provide greenfield and brownfield input into EPC contract ITT packages
- Define schedule execution risks, highlighting risks specific to the critical path
- Input into Project Risk reviews
- Input to lessons learned
Skills / Qualifications
- Construction Leadership experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical sector
- Construction experience relating to onshore pipelines, above ground and buried
- A technical or management qualification in Engineering or Construction to degree level or above
