Key Responsibilities: - Having in-depth knowledge of various Rotating Equipment, including:
- Compressor Equipment: reciprocating and integrally geared;
- Pump Equipment: Slurry Pumps, API Centrifugal Pumps, etc.; and,
- Turbine Equipment, and all associated equipment and accessories,
- Take on full package ownership as the Responsible Engineer for the Rotating Equipment Packages, including coordinating and liaising with other Wood engineering disciplines, the client and suppliers.
- Generating new Mechanical Package Specifications related to Rotating Equipment Packages
- Create, specify, and maintain Data Sheets for related package rotating equipment
- De velop and compile Material Requisitions c/w specifications, scopes, and data sheets for bid and purchase
- Review quotations from suppliers and perform a Technical Bid Evaluation of the equipment offered.
- Provide Technical Assessments and Recommendations when required.
- Post purchase order placement package management, including review and approval of supplier documentation for the equipment.
- Visit the supplier's shop or the client's site, as required.
- Develop Construction Work Packages specific to mechanical scope.
Skills / Qualifications - In-depth knowledge of various Rotating Equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, etc.)
- Experience with rotating equipment in CO2 and Carbon Capture (CCS) services will be considered a strong asset
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta.
- 10 to 15 years of relevant EPC experience.
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Canadian experience in conceptual, front-end, and detailed engineering on various mid to large capital projects.
- In-depth knowledge of industry codes: API, ASME, ANSI/HI and Canadian Codes
- Hands-on field/site experience in operations, mechanical equipment maintenance, inspections and workshop repairs and turnarounds will be considered an asset
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
- Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
- Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
- Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application
