The M arket Risk analyst position supports the Global Market Risk Team in monitoring and assessing regional price exposures across the Hydrocarbon Supply Chain. The role provides support in ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness of exposure measurement and reporting. This role also assists with the continuing development and improvement of price exposure work including the continuous implementation of various business-led projects.

Principal Accountabilities
The key deliverables for this roles is measuring and monitoring the region's Market Risk Exposure from crude, feedstocks and products. These would include but not limited to the following functions:
Decision-Making
The most demanding type of decision to be made by this role is to ensure that exposure data measurement is completed timely and accurately. This is a very time-sensitive function. Many decision making activities done above this role will be highly dependent on data provided by this role not only from a day-to-day operational perspective but also from a historical trend analysis requirement. The role involves identifying and flagging exposures that seem abnormal. It includes deep dive analysis to understand where changes arise. This also involves personal decision in terms of whether or not any abnormalities are indeed valid. The timeliness of both items above is critical in managing business exposure. The role also involves stakeholder engagement to understand reasons behind changes in data. Sometimes this is not forthcoming from business, so there is a need to decide on materiality of some information.

- Developing and maintaining a good network of relationships across businesses to facitate collection and interpretation of stock levels and exposure information
- Highlight and understand irregularities in stocks, exposure and daily P&L movements
- Measure forecast accuracy to assess reasonableness of data used for exposure management and decision making
- Publish routine reports to management and stakeholders
- Contribute to the roll out of Global Price Exposure Management Policy
- Collaborate with onshore risk management teams for business process integrity, accuracy and continuous improvement opportunities

- Maintaining quality engagements with key business stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate data
- Keeping the process in control to ensure that data accuracy and integrity are maintained
- Managing a regional desk without presence of standard systems which may prompt enhancements in pursuit of improvement opportunities
- Dynamic refinements to existing measurement process as well as to the overall risk management program are to be expected
Qualifications Required
- An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or Statistics. A Master's degree is preferred but not required
- Good understanding of Oil Markets business would be valuable as would knowledge of Trading management information systems
- Highly enumerate, logical, ability to prioritize and multi-task, and be comfortable working in teams and across functions
- Risk Management knowledge or experience would be a strong plus
- Strong analytical skills. Ability to dig into conflicting data and resolve issues considering the impact upon the overall business
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Finance and accounting skills including ability to understand financial results and management reports
- Experience with risk analysis, value-at-risk, financial derivatives, or physical energy markets would be a plus
