Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This is a site based role with no remote working.

Job Objective:

Inspect product/material and associated documentation to confirm compliance to Wood, Client or industry specifications/codes and relevant purchase order requirements.

Co-ordination of competent and authorised inspection personnel ensuring inspection activities are completed in accordance to approved inspection requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate Inspection requirement and carry out inspection activities at the fabrication facility or as instructed by the facility Quality Lead.
  • Inspection of materials and review of material certification prior to fabrication/manufacture.
  • Select weld procedures for work scopes for approval by the welding engineer.
  • Witness / review of testing activities in compliance with Inspection and test plan requirements.
  • Verification that appropriate approvals are in place prior to commencement of specific works (e.g. weld procedures are approved, welder certification, etc.).
  • Review and endorsement of quality records raised as an output from fabrication/manufacturing processes.
  • Generation of NDT requests from AESSOP System.
  • Generation of inspection and progress reports as require
  • Attend factory acceptance test
  • Final inspection release and issue of inspection release note
  • Report any inspection deficiencies and queries to the facility quality advisor.
  • Assist with incident investigations and ensuring that any relevant corrective/improvement actions are implemented.
  • Participate (as necessary) in audits, HSE and Quality Toolbox meetings as requested.
  • Site based role - No remote working.


Skills / Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Technically Qualified/Time served trades person
  • Welding Inspection certificate from a recognised industry or national body (essential)
  • Radiographic interpretation certificate (essential)
  • Quality auditor qualification by recognised industry body (desirable)

Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • Relevant experience (Preferably in the associated industry).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
