Purpose

The Operation Analyst supports all operational activities of Shell Energy Japan's Power trading desk. He or she supports trade execution, nominations and conducts commodity operations up to settlement. As the 'go-to' person for the SEJ Senior Structurer and Trader, the Operation Analyst is involved in an end to end process of trading on exchanges, bi-laterally with customers and the end-to-end delivery of value for Shell.

Accountabilities
  • Supporting the operation for the Senior Structurer and Trader
  • Conducting of end-to-end trading operations
  • Cooperate with the function team (IT, financial etc) and establish the optimization and/or automation procedure for the power operation.
  • Leveraging Shell Energy global best practices into SEJ

Skills & Requirements
  • Fluency in Japanese and English.
  • Proof of excellent detailed analytical skills.
  • Good team player with demonstrated ability to progress work collaboratively as well as individually.

  • Ability to proactively solve problems and issues.


Beneficial Experiences and Qualifications
  • Education and or work experience outside Japan.
  • Work experience in Power Industry, commodity trading, research, or consulting in Japan.
  • Understanding of the structure of the Japanese Power market
  • Interest in the detailed commodity business end-to-end value chain
