THE SHELL TRADING NETWORK (STN)
Shell Trading integrates a worldwide trading network with an unsurpassed global portfolio in crude oil, refined products, LNG, natural gas, electrical power, environmental products, and chemicals and has larger locations in London, Houston, Calgary, Singapore, Dubai, Rotterdam, and Barbados. Shell Trading is one of the world's largest energy traders and is a key segment of Royal Dutch Shell's portfolio. "Shell Energy" includes the energy trading divisions Shell Energy Europe & Environmental Products (SE-EE), Shell LNG Marketing & Trading (SLMT), Shell Energy North America (SENA) and Shell Energy Asia (SEA).
SHELL ENERGY EUROPE & ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCTS
SE-EE is part of the Shell Trading & Supply organization with a focus on European gas and power markets, and the global emissions market. As such, SE-EE trades natural gas, power, green power certificates, voluntary/compliance driven environmental products with counterparties including major resource holders of gas, upstream producers, investment banks, trading houses, utilities, power generators, large as well as up-and-coming retail gas and power marketing companies, regional and local gas and power distribution companies, gas storage operators, and large industrial and commercial gas and power users.
At Shell Energy Europe Limited, we are committed to providing an equal opportunity to all qualified applicants and do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender, race, religion or belief, political preference, sexual orientation, national origin, marriage / civil partnership or pregnancy and maternity/paternity. To power progress together, we believe that our workforce should reflect the diversity of the markets, geographies, communities and societies within which we operate, and that our success depends on having the very best talent from all backgrounds where differing values, perspectives and experiences are intentionally integrated into our ways of working. We want you to feel that you belong, succeed on your merits and have no barriers to reaching your ultimate potential.
THE STRUCTURED ENERGY ORIGINATION TEAM
The Structured Energy Origination team concentrates on originating, executing and subsequently managing customer tailored, multiyear transactions for the sale of gas, power and associated environmental products in the key European markets, primarily to independent retail energy companies who lack broad access to wholesale traded markets and do not own upstream assets. These transactions are often achieved via non-standard commercial structures, with embedded working capital / credit solutions secured in a variety of ways, ranging from unsecured credit deals, to deals secured against the assets/equity of the underlying company.
In addition to this, the team is also actively involved in helping deliver on SEEL's ambitions in electricity by developing new structures that create positions/exposures desired by the trade desks and consistent with these ambitions, as well as exploring synergies between our customers and non-competing Shell New Energies' businesses and Shell Ventures in the area of customer connectivity and behind-the-meter solutions.
This is a key strategic initiative for SE-EE, and we have built a market leading portfolio of UK, NL and French-based retail energy partnerships (amongst others, First Utility prior to the acquisition by Shell, OVO Energy, Octopus Energy), and are looking to further expand the portfolio into the key European markets whilst also growing selectively in the UK through the offering of new services to the market that increase the unit margin earned by SE-EE.
