What's the role?As Software Engineering you will be responsible for the delivery of software, which may include new development, configuration, maintenance and installation of third-party packages, and software integration efforts. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and website design, development, programming, and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software). As well as proper working knowledge and experience with Hexagon SDX, SPF or AVEVA (ISM, AIM-A, Gateway) and Bentley solutions as a configurator.
In Addition, your role is within the Projects & Engineering (P&E) and Asset Technology portfolio space. This offers the opportunity to work on the development and support of the application in technologies of DOT NET, Angular, React JS, and Restful API to grow your technical expertise for the applications/modules of your scope. The role requires you to be a proactive/independent, strong software engineering skilled individual that learns and is familiar with software development/delivery methods (SDLC, CI/CD). It also includes actively working with key IT and Business stakeholders to plan and execute the approach for implementing a digital solution, incremental delivery of releases, enhancements and fixes according to the roadmaps that are agreed upon with IT portfolio management and key business user communities. Strong knowledge of DOT NET, Angular, React JS and Restful API is an added advantage in this role.
Technical Responsibilities are as follows:
- Work as a software engineer in the P&E and Asset Technologies portfolio, focusing on Engineering Information Management.
- Develop expertise in the field to offer guidance and consultation to Shell projects/assets in selecting appropriate digital solutions.
- Collaborate with application vendors to incrementally develop and deliver software releases according to the agreed roadmap.
- Provide L3 support to businesses by working closely with IT and Business Stakeholders, as well as application vendors.
- Follow Agile and DevOps practices for application delivery, support, and maintenance.
- Establish relationships with other IT teams in Shell for application integration and end-to-end service delivery.
- Stay updated with technical expertise and build strong working relationships with Product Line Managers, Project Managers, and Business Users.
- Ability to learn domain skills expected in Capital Projects/Assets
What We Need from You- 5 to 10 years of relevant corporate IT experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline
- Familiarity with Engineering Data Warehousing and Document Management concepts
- Knowledge of Discipline Engineering and Capital projects in the Oil and Gas Industry (preferred)
- Understanding of Reference Data Library Standards
- Proficiency in software development using C#.Net, ASP.Net, ASP.Net Core, Azure Web API, REST APIs, Web jobs, and Azure functions (preferred)
- Experience with Software Delivery Life Cycle methodologies, particularly Agile and waterfall models
At least one of the following tools:
i) SDX- Proper working knowledge and experience in working with SDx (or SPF) Modules like Schema Object Administration, System Administration (Forms, Methods, Conditions, Security, Columnsets, etc.), Change Management Administration, Schema Editor.
- Well-versed with the configuration of SDx Suite of modules including Data Validator (or Smart Data Validator application), DataCapture Administration (or SmartPlant Fusion application), SmartPlant Markup, etc...
- Well-versed with the configuration of SDx Web client functionalities
- Knowledgeable in WebClient extensibility.
- Very good knowledge of Document management, Transmittals, workflow, Vault management with replication and various other SPF functionalities.
ii) AVEVA EDW- Proficient in administration and configuration of AIM-A (preferred)/AVEVA-NET, ISM.
- Working knowledge and experience in administration and configuration of WorkTasks and Register Gateway (preferred).
- Working knowledge of AVEVA Unified Engineering Tools (AVEVA Engineering) (preferred)
- Knowledge in JavaScript (preferred).
iii) BENTLEY EDW- Working knowledge and experience in Bentley Asset Wise and Project Wise
