What's the roleThe mission of the Design Engineer Functional Excellence team within IDE is to develop and deliver world-class delivery capabilities for its capabilities. Design Engineering capabilities touches almost all project deliveries in Shell IT via one or the other capability. The role supports the entirety of Design Engineering - operational and functional. It is the guardian of design engineering's strategy and ambition 2025. The role provides steer and visibility around external trends, community change impact and org design.
Your further accountabilities will include:
- Business Analysis, Testing and Security & Compliance with services including: Opportunity Framing, solution evaluations, market scans, estimation support, resourcing/staffing, Domain and Tech SMEs, Test Strategy, Automation, Delivery Assurance, LOD1 etc.
- This role will lead design engineering's change, org design, strategy to drive delivery excellence ambitions.
- To drive business transformation and sustain the change required by Shell's IT simplification agenda. Individual delivery of high impact business transformation and change management outcomes, run organization change within Design Engineering.
- Drive global collaboration, consistency, and transparency by building global functional communities in Design Engineering.
- Plan and drive via FE, collaboration across Information & Digital Engineering (IDE) and Information and Digital Technology (IDT) capabilities. Role requires strong externalization - within IDT and outside Shell: external events, participations, social media pipeline, and connected value delivery.
- Role requires strong digital transformation understanding, ability to distill thoughts and laying starting points grounding tech disruption - org changes and its impacts to Design Engineer.
What we need from you- At least 13 to 15 years of overall working experience.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- The candidate must be fluent in English and have excellent communication and influencing skills and an ability to forge a strong global network.
- The candidate must possess strong technology understanding, and extraordinary view of how and where the industry is heading towards.
- Leadership capability and experience (e.g., via managerial roles in engineering or project management with innovation and excellence background).
- Significant knowledge and skills in the Project Services competencies (e.g. Planning, Risk Management and Project Management Systems, Change Management).
- Proven interpersonal and relationships skills in complex (virtual) environments. Ability to lead change, build and coach teams of diverse background.
