Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for an
Offshore Materials Controller with experience in the Offshore Industry. This is a Temporary position to provide support to a Client's Operations for the next 2 to 3 months.
The successful candidate will work In line with the Wood core values to ensure delivery of services in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.
Core responsibilities will include: - Ship, receive, and store all required materials and supplies
- Distribute & maintain information and documentation, as required
- Ensure the safe segregation and documentation of dangerous goods in accordance with regulations
- Monitor, control, and adjust all construction consumables and ensure appropriate inventories are maintained
- Monitor and communicate material requirements daily, to ensure material availability
- Identify materials to be shipped onshore and coordinate movement and documentation of backloads
- Responsible for completing a comprehensive hand over after each shift
- Ensure all materials are packaged and preserved properly
- Participate in the development and improvement of effective material control procedures and work methods
- Attend training as deemed necessary
- Report all accidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions thorough the correct procedures
- Participate in both Wood and Client safety programs
Skills / Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: - 2-5 years of experience in material control with at least half being in the Oil and Gas industry
- 2-5 years of experience in computerized material management systems with a focus of material control / warehousing
- Knowledge and understanding of the equipment and materials associated with offshore operations, as well as the inventory management system
- Knowledge of the procedures and information necessary to complete shipping manifests, including documentation relating to the shipment of hazardous cargo by air and by sea
- An understand of, and adherence to, the permit to work system, as well as other rules and standard operating procedures
- Working knowledge of safety practices common to the industry
- Willingness to train and be part of an offshore emergency response or Heli-deck teams, as required
- Follows applicable processes and acts with integrity
- Adheres to all health and safety policies, procedures, and programs (Wood and Client) to ensure a safe working environment for self and others
Training Requirements: - Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
- Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
- Offshore Regulatory Awareness
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air and Marine) IMDG
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Air) IATA
- Emergency First Aid
- Other Client Specific Training as required
- All Role Specific Training as defined in the CAPP Guidelines
