Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Cost Controller to join our Perth office in the Minerals and Metals team.

Wood is currently delivering critical metals projects (Battery and Magnet metals) all over the world, including Copper, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals projects.

An exciting opportunity exists to join our growing Project Controls team where you will contribute towards project control functions across a diverse Study and Project portfolio.

What will you do?
  • Be part of a supportive team that works together to meet our clients' goals
  • Provide project support by monitoring and reporting on cost, project progress, invoicing, change control and variations
  • Review and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS)
  • Establish baseline budgets for hours and cost capture
  • Liaise with procurement, finance, and time-capture functions, and third parties as required, to ensure accurate and timely capture of procurement, materials, subcontract and labour manhour costs. Ensure costs are allocated accurately in accordance with approved project WBS
  • Review and maintain project cost budgets using Wood software applications
  • Contribute to building a cost-conscious attitude throughout the project team
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives


Skills / Qualifications

  • A self-motivated team member with excellent communication skills who can manage time and workload efficiently
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Cost Control (mining projects preferred but not essential)
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Open to learning new skills
  • Valid working rights within Australia
