We are looking for a self-motivated engineer that is willing to be hands-on with our field services group. Personnel will start working under the direction of a P&C Lead.
This is a remote, traveling position that is not based in the city below, but in the west Texas area.

This is a remote, traveling position that is not based in the city below, but in the west Texas area.
Job duties will include:
- Physical wiring
- Verification of all non-factory wiring
- Commissioning of relays
- Setup and configuration of all network (LAN/WAN) equipment
- Verification of functionality of all equipment
- Determine and mitigate any reduced or inadequate protection situations
- Planning and scheduling SCADA checkout
- Problem solving
- Testing complex relays, including but not limited to distance, directional power, reverse power, negative sequence, differential, motor and generator protection. Relay examples include:

- Requires working knowledge of the following software:
- SEL 5010
- AcSELerator Quickset
- AcSELerator Architect
- GE URPC (Enervista)
- Cooper SMP Manager
- SG Config
- Doble Protection Suite
- Hyper Terminal or Terra Term
- Any other software that might be necessary to complete all commissioning related activities
- Assisting field service teams during maintenance, shut-downs, startups and testing projects
- Report writing
To qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, or working towards completion within 6 months; preferred educational focus on electric power
- A willingness to be hands-on and work in the field with engineering technicians
- Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and be comfortable and effective doing so directly to customers and co-workers
- Computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must have a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record
- Must be available for periodic to continuous domestic travel
