Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a graduate IT Engineer to join its Projects - Process and Chemical team focusing on digital design and data management of complex industrial plants in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy industries.

The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

You will also relate with Client data manager, attending technical weekly coordination meeting and workshops.

Typical responsibilities

 

 

  • Develop the Project Information and Data Management Plans, reflective of the Project lifecycle requirements. This may encapsulate engineering design data and deliverables, construction, supply chain and document management
  • Ensure the project team is fully aware of all stakeholder requirements related to the Project Information and Data Management Plans
  • Define the Project objects tagging and data structures and set standards for data quality and delivery that meets all stakeholder needs. This shall be cognisant of Project phase, Client standards, internal standards, and industry regulations
  • Create/Setup/Administer project systems resources and tools (e.g. databases, Electronic Document Management System, AVEVA and Hexagon suites, etc.)
  • Coordinate with IT for resolution of hardware / software issues, interface with tool suppliers to help resolve issues raised by Project team

 


Skills / Qualifications

Expected:

 

 

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Mathematics or Computer Science discipline.
    Master Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Energy / Electrical Engineering might be considered too.
  • Self-motivation, a proactive outlook and good communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Italian and Fluent in English


Desirable:

 

 

  • Basic knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 2D and 3D CAD systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Information Technology in:
    • Server/Desktop Microsoft Windows environment and general office tools
    • Microsoft Windows operating system and Active Directory
    • IT Infrastructure WAN/LAN etc.
    • Information Security and governance
    • Database Management (e.g. MS SQL)
