Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Expediting & Logistics Engineer to join our Supply Chain Department in Madrid focus on Power Plants sector.

Key responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all Expediting activities of the Contract with suppliers, to guarantee their fulfillment with contractual delivery dates
  • Expedite and permanently monitor material purchasing, shop reception, and manufacturing activities and related schedules for suppliers and sub-suppliers
  • Perform and lead regular meetings with suppliers, including those in presence of clients
  • Anticipate unforeseen events on suppliers' performance, sending an internal alert to Project Manager according to project circumstances
  • Strongly expedite the application by suppliers of corrective actions to their unconformities, as required by stablished recovery action plan
  • Prepare and issue in monthly basis the equipment and materials' status report, based on information compiled and validated from each supplier's regular meetings or monthly report.
  • Monitor, research and report the suppliers' performance against established criteria, including records on SRM system
  • Lead suppliers' loyalty plan and related activities
  • New suppliers' search and evaluation, based on established criteria
  • Lead qualification processes for new potential suppliers
  • Attend national and international trips to vendors workshops or site, according to projects and company needs
  • Manage/monitoring all transports (imports/exports/domestic) & customs until destination
  • Issuing all the required documents for the import and export of goods taking care of customs clearance and controlling the end-to-end process until final delivery of goods at site by sea, air, and land


Skills / Qualifications

  • Engineering degree , with a minimum of 7 years' experience expediting projects, managing transports and suppliers , and their manufacturing schedules
  • English and Spanish proficiency (mandatory)
  • Proven International experience, dealing with multicultural environments
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to deal with suppliers & their subcontractors
  • Organizational and planning capability to attend and prioritize all tasks and regular meetings for suppliers' monitoring
  • Knowledge of risks' management on contracts execution
  • Teamwork skills for internal coordination with in-house project staff
  • Availability and sense of responsibility to represent Wood in front of their clients' representatives
  • Capacity and commitment to self-control the man-hour budget established for the project
  • Capability in technical drawings and specifications' interpretation
  • Knowledge of scheduling and monitoring software (MS Project, Primavera)
  • Experience staying in manufacturing workshops
  • Experience with customs processes
  • Experience in the execution of heavy lift/breakbulk shipments
  • Proven capability for new suppliers' search & preliminary evaluation
  • Availability for national and international trips, and temporary assignment abroad/site
  • Proactivity , adaptability, and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership and decision-making
  • Capability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Reporting to management
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Prior knowledge of mechanical and heat transfer equipment, and experience expediting them, will be valued
