We have a good opportunity available for a CSU Mechanical Technician to join a well-known global Oil and Gas operator in Chinchilla, QLD on a 2/2 roster (15 days on/13 days off). This position will be initially as a contractor for 6 months through NES Fircroft with the posibbility of an extension.

As a CSU Mechanical Technician, you will be required to operate and maintain wellsite, fixed facility and temporary CSG Upstream equipment.

Scope:

• Execute / perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and commissioning on plant and equipment.
• Execute / perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on Wellsites and Trial/ Temporary equipment.
• Provide technical assistance, as required, to the CSU Team and Operations.
• Inspect test, adjust and repair mechanical equipment to satisfy appropriate governing standards;
• Demonstrate high quality fault finding skills and the ability to troubleshoot autonomously;
• Liaise with other technicians in the team to undertake repair activities;
• Support E&I Techs and commissioning operators by advice and recommendations on improvements in production and planned maintenance;
• Assist in equipment performance checks;
• Maintain maintenance records through effective documentation system as well as with Maintenance Management

Experience Needed:

• Experience with gas/Diesel driven fixed engines and rotating equipment
• Mechanical Trade Certificate with minimum 5 years post trade experience;
• High level field gas commissioning experience;
• High- and low-pressure gas experience.
• Proven application in maintenance integrity principles;
• Proven Quality Assurance knowledge;
• Proven ability to interact effectively with people;
• Experienced user of IT systems.

• Mechanical Trade Certificate;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills;
• High level interpersonal skills;
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications;
• Proven ability to interact effectively with people;
• Understanding of industry standards;
• Understanding of HSSE principals;
