As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team executing custom project designs, meeting customer expectations, quality, schedule, budget, goals, and ensuring project risks are mitigated.
The engineer chosen for this role will be responsible for an overall Power Distribution system design, equipment selection and procurement, as well as development and implementation of testing and acceptance standards/procedures.
The Senior Power (Electrical) Engineer will develop single line diagrams, I/O lists, panel design and schematics, network architectures, supporting our production facilities, completing customer facing factory acceptance tests and assisting through commissioning.
Nature of work:In this role, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Collaborate in cross-functional project team discussions and client meetings.
- Read and interpret engineering documents, including P&IDs, GAs, process design. guidelines, return of experience, and engineering best practices guides.
- Interpret, comment on and follow contract and customer specifications.
- Design the complete detailed electrical design for water treatment facilities:
- Single line diagrams, load lists, grounding network design, cable tray/conduit system design
- Switchgear/MCC design and procurement, equipment heat load calcs and HVAC sizing
- Designs to comply with IEEE/ANSI/NEC/OSHA standards, as well as IEC/CE standards (depending on project location).
- Perform power distribution system studies including Overcurrent Protection Coordination, Short Circuit, Arc Flash Hazard, Cable Ampacity
- Oversee the execution of system acceptance tests during installation and commissioning
- Manage budget, scope and schedule and proactively report risks and opportunities to project teams.
- Occasional travel (~15%) for client meetings or customer site visits within North America.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including coordinating, reporting, documentation, and presentations).
- Proven ability to develop and follow procedures and standards, while extrapolating new concepts from established standards.
- Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn equipment and processes related to Veolia WTS products and systems.
Minimum requirements:- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from an accredited University or College
- 10 years' experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial power distribution systems
- Valid passport and driver's license.
Useful skills or abilities:- Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
- Understanding of basic water chemistry.
- Strong focus on customer relationships (external/internal). Understands balance between customer and Veolia teams.
- Experience with control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, HMI and SCADA design and programming.
- Basic technical knowledge in the field of industrial control systems.
- Professional Engineer designation.
