Eni, we are looking for a
Junior Financial Controller within
Versalis UK in
Grangemouth, Scotland. You will be responsible for assisting the senior controller in various tasks. Also p reparing management reporting for the Board of Directors and for the management of the company, ensuring the analysis of variances against budget and forecasts, with respect to P&L, BS, KPIs, and investments are explained.
As a member of the CFO Team at Versalis UK you will be responsible for:
- prepare budget and forecasts for the year and the strategic 4-year plan in accordance with the deadline and in line with the group guidelines.
- Participating in the preparation of monthly, bi-annual, and annual financial year end closings, in accordance with group guidelines.
- Implementing and maintaining the control of management activities: production, maintenance, investments, purchases, sales, inventories, fixed costs, variable margins.
- Managing the operational planning and control of the company's investments through capital expenditure, notice to capitalize investments in Fixed Asset register, allocating asset classes, amortization and identifying potential write-down of the company's industrial assets through Impairment.
- Preparing and managing of the drivers for the correct execution of cost allocation cycles.
- Reporting:
- Cost of Sales calculations based upon current costs
- Calculation of non- BOM (packaging, logistics, freight etc.) absorption costs.
- Margin Analysis: Actual v Budget v Forecast.CM by Customer
- Inventory: valuation & provisions.
- Calculating accrual calculations and preparation of adjusting journals.
- Supporting the preparation of Reporting Packs: Prepare P&L and Balance Sheet performance commentary for Accounting & Controlling Manager.
- Preparation of reporting, and responsibility for Cost Centre reviews with local departmental managers to review and explain variances with corrective Action Plan.
- Coordinating inventory counts in conjunction with Logistics.
- Fixed Asset verification: selection of sampling and notification of findings to finance.
- Assisting auditors, and consultants' enquiries.
- Managing monthly, interim, and year-end closure activities (controlling duties)
- Participating and supporting Controlling Referent in preparation of Budgets and Forecasts, specifically: Sales volumes/ pricing, Variable Costs (based on "standard" costs) and Contribution Margin. Calculate and value Inventories.
- Maintaining group reporting packages and align with local models. (Excel to Hyperion).
This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements :
- Native level of English
- A Bachelor's degree or similar, preferably with experience in the field of financial controlling
- Ideally, a recognized accounting qualification, or studying towards a qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, AAT
- Knowledge of product costing and typical controlling related technical terms
- Proficiency in Excel and exposure to SAP
- Prior controlling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Availability to travel occasionally to Brussels/Milan
- Excellent analytical skills
- Fast learner with a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Curious and willing to learn new things
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate in a structured and concise way
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships, as the holder will continuously communicate with the Plant staff, the HQ, and the peer AFC colleagues.
- Knowledge of product costing and typical controlling related technical terms
- Good excel and exposure to SAP.
- Controlling experience in a manufacturing environment.
