Support site staff to assess, plan and enact security measures to help prevent security breaches and cyber-attacks.  

Specifiy the most important activites an incumbent would be expected to perform

  • Analysis of vulnerability data, provide recommendations on remediation and mitigation strategies
  • Assist with testing operating system patches and security software
  • Coordinate with asset owners and third-party vendors to develop vulnerability remediation plans
  • Development and rollout of secure baseline configurations
  • Manage secure configuration baselines
  • Organize vulnerability remediation efforts
  • Organize vulnerability scans to identify possible network security attacks and host-based scans to identify vulnerabilities in workstations, servers, and other network hosts
  • Recommend security enhancements to site staff based on industry best practices
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues with anti-malware clients
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues with backup software
Principal Accountability

  • Apply security patches and updates to remediate discovered vulnerabilities
  • Compiles and tracks vulnerabilities and mitigation results to quantify program effectiveness
  • Develops risk-based vulnerability mitigation strategies for networks, operating systems, and applications
