Overview

Saudi Aramco is seeking experienced Mechanical/Chemical engineer to join South Ghawar producing Department as Corrosion Engineer.

The Corrosion engineer will be responsible to handle the work related to corrosion and inspection related activities for fourteen (14) Gas Oil Separation Plants along with their off-plot asset, which process majority of AL Crude.

The candidate shall have through understanding of corrosion damage mechanisms, failure analysis, non-destructive examination (NDE), identifying corrosion loops, developing corrosion control documents (CCD), Cathodic Protection (CP) monitoring, corrosion monitoring, risk Based Inspection (RBI), review annual OSI data and initiate corrective actions and being familiar SAP-SAIF system or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

The corrosion Engineer will be required to perform the following tasks:

Develop corrosion management plans (CMP) for the oil & gas operating facilities as per the related applicable standards

Develop, implement and maintain corrosion mitigation plans for the oil & gas operating facilities through chemical treatment (Corrosion Inhibitor, Scale Inhibitor, Biocides ...), coating and material selection

Conduct Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) for onshore facilities

Carryout failure investigation and provide recommendations to prevent failures and improve integrity of the plant and pipelines

Develop, maintain and optimize On-Stream Inspection (OSI) programs for the facilities

Support facilities improvement by reviewing design packages to maintain potential and new projects and providing comments related to corrosion monitoring, corrosion mitigation plans including but not limited to: material selection, installation of corrosion monitoring systems (CMS), chemical treatment, corrosion risk management, OSI

Work with inspection during plant shutdown, turnaround and inspection (T&I) for evaluation internal and external corrosion issues and coating assessment.

Develop, monitor and report Key Performance Indicators

Ensure full HSSE Compliance

Develop and mentor young Engineer

Regularly interact with other professionals in various company organizations involved in capital planning and economic analysis

Minimum Requirements

Provide safe and adequate support, train/mentor new engineers from other organizations

Familiar with API-510, API-570, API-571, API-580, API-653, API-577 and NACE (AMPP Standards)

Bachelor's Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, MS is preferred.

A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C. Eng.) license or registration is desirable

At-least 10 years of experience as a Corrosion Engineer with Oil & Gas/petrochemical industry or engineering company

Detailed knowledge of industry standards and codes such as API, NACE (AMPP) and ASME

Experienced in failure analysis for vessels, piping and tanks

Experienced with conducting risk assessments and Process Hazardous Analysis (PHAs)

Commissioning and testing of new corrosion and inspection technologies such as online corrosion monitoring systems and ER probes

Experienced in reviewing material selections and specifications

Be able to communicate complex technical, economic and commercial concept in a clear manner to individuals or groups with diverse professional background

Self-starter and able to work effectively with minimum supervision
