Assistant Supervisor

As Assistant Supervisor, you will c oordinate activities with supervisor regarding daily duties and long-range work schedules. Recommend and schedule overtime as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies. Maintain department records as required. Perform advanced technical duties as required which may include CNC Machining, Welding, Assembly, and Chemical and Fluids Operations. Requires working overtime and responding to emergency callouts when necessary. Must be flexible with shift assignment and be able to work in any department. Maintains more than 50% direct production hours. May give feedback on employee's performance for year-end evaluation purposes.

As a Assistant Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing general consultative supervision, toward predetermined goals and objectives.
  • Requiring expertise in problem recognition and specialized technical skills to develop solutions and action steps to a wide variety of difficult work assignments.
  • Interacting with peers, supervisors, and internal/external customers.
  • Providing advice to lower-level team members on medium to large projects.
  • Making sound decisions and problem-solving skills.
  • Ensuring consequences of errors are easily measured and can be confined.
  • Performing advanced mechanical aptitude, including advanced experience with general hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Working with special projects and peers from other work groups.
  • Having the ability to read and interpret routine instructions.
  • Having the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent and demonstrate solid experience within a similar role
  • Have experience leading a diverse workforce by coaching and mentoring a team
  • Manage time effectively, be well organized with an ability to assess and prioritize multiple production units .
  • Need to be a proactive self-starter with ability to forecast delays and identify potential solutions
  • Possess great commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
