Chief Engineer (Chief OSV 4000 HP or Higher) - Offshore Supply Vessel - GOM

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Head of department for the engineering equipment
  • Responsible for the safety, administration, maintenance and repairs of all; permanently installed equipment on board the vessel, together with the safe and efficient use of the manpower available
  • Contributes to the objective that the ship is always available to be deployed in a safe and efficient manner
  • To execute the safety- and environmental policy on board
  • Responsible for all technical activities
  • Responsible for Survey Planning with inspection and verification of items, to maintain the vessel's class
  • To manage the vessels technical administration and (SOPEP) manuals
  • To manage the Planned Maintenance System
  • The management of the technical stores, goods and tools and the correct storage or processing of incoming supplies
  • Good knowledge of English (written and spoken)
  • Competent to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities as Chief Engineer
  • Knowledge of the relevant and applicable codes, guidelines and standards
  • Good knowledge of the systems, equipment and procedures he is responsible for
  • Understanding of electronics and hydraulics

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid TWIC
  • Valid USCG MMC with Chief Engineer OSV 4000 HP minimum
  • All applicable STCW endorsements:
    • III/2 Chief Engineer with applicable restriction
    • III/1 OICEW with applicable restriction
    • III/5 RPFEW
    • III/4 Able Seafarer-Engine
    • VI/1 Basic Training
    • VI/2 Proficiency in the use of survival craft (PSC)
    • VI/3 Advanced Firefighting
    • VI/4 Medical First Aid Provider
    • VI/6 VPDSD/Security Awareness
  • Valid USCG 719k Medical Certificate (STCW)

Preferred Additional Certifications if applicable:

  • Passport
  • Safegulf (or equivalent)
  • API RP 2D 7th Edition Rigging (preferred)
  • T-HUET (preferred)
  • 1st Aid/CPR/AED (preferred)
