Job Description

Schlumberger Geosolutions in Milan process and interpret seismic, electromagnetic and potential field data from around the globe, acquired with all acquisition systems in all environments, with application to oil & gas, geothermal, mining and carbon storage.

The Geosolutions Geophysicist is responsible for contributing to various projects with a broad range of different acquisition and data processing techniques and requiring knowledge and understanding of geophysics and geology.

The position reports to a Project Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Process data using the appropriate technology and software.
  • Define, build and submit processing jobs, interpret results, provide recommendations on parameters and recommend further testing, if required.
  • Validate the accuracy and efficiency of all testing and production job sequences.
  • Ensure that processed data is delivered to customers on schedule.
  • Interface consistently with customers and advise them regarding processing parameters.
  • Keep abreast of developments within seismic and non-seismic data processing and communication and data transfer techniques.
  • Investigate and report on problems encountered during data processing.
  • Forecast resource requirements and report project status to Project Manager.
  • Project archiving.

Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in Geophysics, MSc. Telecommunication or Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent geoscience.
  • Successful candidates are excellent communicators, enjoy learning and solving problems, and work well in teams.
