This position drives great hands on experience to progress along the ISO Vibration certification process. Baker Hughes is willing to invest in further training and sponsorship for any applicants progression to the next level (Cat 1 to Cat 2 or Cat 2 to Cat 3). Cat 3 level candidates would be considered for open Machinery Diagnostic Services positions.

Partner with the best

The Vibration Technician performs data acquisition and data analysis services using a portable data collector and supporting analysis software. We require a portable data collection and vibration analysis to execute current long term service agreements.

As a Vibration Technician, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Performing machinery inspection and portable data collection on rotating equipment at customer sites.
  • Understanding of Equipment Vibration Measurements and Readings (amplitude, duration, phase angle).
  • Understanding of Rotating Machinery Operation & Diagnostics.
  • Understanding of Equipment Maintenance & Reliability.
  • Understanding of Computer Based Workflows and MS Office.
  • Working from heights.
  • Gaining knowledge of Bently Nevada Asset Condition Management (ACM) products, such as System 1 ™, 3500 Monitoring System, and Transducers.
  • Having the ability to understand equipment condition trending.

 


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

 

 

 

  • Have two-year Technical or four-year bachelor's degree, preferably in electrical or mechanical fields.
  • Have a minimum of Level 1 and/or 2 ISO Certification in Vibration or equivalent from a recognized training organization at time of hire.
  • 1-3 years' experience working in an operating Petrochem or Power plant.
  • Have a valid or ability to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Have or ability to obtain a valid Los Angeles Refinery Safety Council (RSO) training.
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English language.
  • Be a self-starter with minimal supervision; ability to work independently, prioritize & organize, demonstrate flexible behavior, and to meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
