The PCB Electrical CAD Designer is responsible for preparing and maintaining electrical PCB/PWB design layouts, production drawings, and other related documentation per applicable industry/Schlumberger standards completely and accurately while considering methods of manufacture, materials, and their effect on related PWAs, PWB/PCBs, SCM/MCMs, or harness assemblies.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Function as a design engineer for routine/correction.
  • Depending on seniority, use the CAD system to prepare and maintain simple to average complexity electrical and electronic PCB layouts, average complexity mechanical and highest complexity electrical and electronic product and production drawings and other related documentation from layouts, sketches, or verbal instruction.
  • Be responsible for the accuracy of assignments, except for design features that are the responsibility of the project engineer.
  • Prepares and maintains engineering product file, including CAD models, drawings, design layouts, specifications, assembly instructions and PDMS records per SLB standards.
  • Releases engineering product files through engineering Change Actions (CAs), and addresses related engineering change requests (Issues) with high quality and efficiency with respect to SLB procedures and standards.
  • Understanding/implementation of Schlumberger procedures and standards and relevant industry standards (ANSI, IPC, etc.), and performs duties in accordance with these standards.
  • Extensive experience using CAD software to generate and maintain CAD models and drawings with complex bills of material (BOMs).
  • Demonstrates ability to perform and document moderate engineering tasks, such as material selection, hand calculations of electrical properties (power dissipation, resistance, impedance, capacitance, current carrying capacity).
  • Understand Schlumberger manufacturing processes and techniques, and interpretation of ANSI/Schlumberger standards and procedures.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of the mechanical and, depending on the seniority, partial to total knowledge of the electrical and electronic Product Line.
  • Maintain status reports on all projects assigned.
