I have been retained by a globally competitive integrated energy company and they are looking for a Maintenance Improvement Manager to join their team in Commerce City, CO. This facility processes approximately 98,000 barrels/day and contributes $2.5 billion USD to Colorado's economy annually: the only facility of its kind in Colorado and the largest in the Rocky Mountain Region.

The Team Lead Maintenance, will identify where process or procedural inefficiencies exist and investigate an appropriate response or method of reducing risk. Must be able to determine and understand root causes of equipment and people issues. Solicits input from planning, reliability, and engineering functions as appropriate.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tools and resources to remove barriers to completing quality maintenance work
• Work within Safety Procedures, Maintenance and Reliability Processes & MI Procedures and ensure that the Craft group works within the same to support the production of metrics and the safe and efficient execution of activities.
• Hold daily safety meeting and set expectations for performance
• Ensure that a Safe Plan of Action (SPA or JSA) is completed by crafts each day for each different work order
• Support JSA field reviews
• Conduct pre-job safety reviews on first time job assignments
• Make daily job assignments and set expectations for progress/completion
• Ensure that when work is completed, each craftsperson enters repair history and hours worked into the CMMS and paperwork is turned in so that the job step/work order is closed
• Manage maintenance backlog (with Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, and Area Superintendents)
• Work with the Maintenance Coordinator to manage scope creep and break-in work by defining work steps and ordering parts
• Consult with Planning and Scheduling on future work, support walkdowns for constructability reviews
• Routinely review metrics with the craftspeople
• Support new craft employees through the evaluation process
• Develop the skill and capability of the craftspeople
• Administration of craft's timekeeping, vacation, sick time, etc…
• Actively minimize cost of necessary repairs
• Ensure materials are available for craft prior to start of work
• Work with Project Engineering for equipment consistency, maintainability, and craft training for new projects
• Provide functional guidance in response to questions from the rest of the organization, working with Area Supervisors for firewater, maintenance equipment and steam specific issues
• Actively manage the quality of repairs to ensure the right equipment performance and best life cycle cost
• Seek opportunities to move the organization to a proactive vs reactive environment
• Responsible for coordinating the troubleshooting and repair of discipline specific equipment
• Identify competency and regulatory training needs for self and seek opportunities for self improvement
• Mentor and support Temporary Supervisors, Special Assignments ie:(Planners, Schedulers, etc…)
• Fill in for other supervisors during vacation/sick time as needed
• Act as asset owner for firewater, backflow preventers throughout the facility, maintenance owned equipment fleet, non-unit specific substation maintenance, and fuel island, including management of repair budget and resources
• Manage unit, perimeter and parking lot lighting repairs throughout facility
• Oversight of equipment Operator PM's such as temporary road repairs, road magnet, and monthly wire rope sling equipment inspection
• Support Adams County Fire inspections
• Manage steam repairs throughout the facility
