Job Scope

Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering principles and practices in areas of assignments and related fields. Reviews project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Develops new techniques and or improved processes or materials, or products.

Job Duties

  • Support the operation of the existing equipment of the manufacturing plant
  • Support and assist in the improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
  • Performs time studies, process flow maps, and other cycle time related functions.
  • Identifies new technologies available to improve current processes.
  • Performs standard cost evaluations and adjusts standard costs to capture improvements to manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate efforts associated with planning, procuring, installing and qualifying new manufacturing processes.
  • Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.
  • Lead/own CPARs(corrective and preventative actions), MOCs (Management of Change) to resolve production and customer issues
  • Enter, maintain all part numbers, BOM's, mfg. routers, and work orders, in JDE software and assist with performing annual cost rolls to support manufacturing production.
  • Comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.


  • Minimum of 5 years Manufacturing Engineering experience
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Diverse knowledge and demonstrated proficiency of manufacturing processes
  • Must have Current/Recent Continuous Improvement Experience
  • Experience in 3D Cad machine design, including FEA analysis, drawing and documentation creation. CREO is an asset
  • A hands-on approach to designing experiments, testing processes, troubleshooting, data gathering and analysis. Strong excel skills are an asset

  • Familiarity with industrial PLC controls and automation. Hydraulic, electric and pneumatic experience is an asset
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments to communicate and manage project requirements
