Partner with the best

As a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist, you will be ensuring the well-being of our workforce and compliance of HSE at facility and field locations supported. You will build relationships with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure regulatory and company requirements are met. You will provide solutions and assist operations to develop continuous improvement of our HSE culture and HSE management system.

As a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting HSE audits, inspections and worksite evaluations to detect existing or potential hazards, and develop preventative measures to mitigate incident and/injury occurrence
  • Providing support to Baker Hughes employees and clients to advise, investigate incidents, develop improvement plans and follow-up initiatives
  • Providing technical support to site leaders in the implementation of company procedures.
  • Assisting with development and maintenance of risk assessments
  • Reviewing company policies and procedures, and coordinating the implementation of changes to meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Supporting management through championing and implementing safety programs to reduce workplace hazards
  • Partnering with the Canada Health and Wellness Coordinator to manage WCB claims and coordinate point of injury management to minimize injury impacts to impacted employees and the company
  • Preparing HSE performance reports


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

 

  • Have a Bachelor's degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited health and safety program with preferably with a safety professional certification (i.e.CRSP)
  • Have experience in HSE in the oil and gas industry and or petrochemical industry.
  • Have a thorough understanding of HSE regulations and regulatory processes.
  • Be familiar with waste handling and storage requirements, hazard communication standards, risk identification and mitigation
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and presentation skills including communicating complex technical content to a range of audiences
  • Have strong document creation and writing skills
  • Have relationship skills to interface with and influence both internal and external customers
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience in HSE Management Systems, Auditing and Root Cause investigation techniques
  • Be a motivated self-starter with strong planning and organizational skills that promotes teamwork and collaboration in a cross-functional environment
