Brief Description:

The DD Data Analyst will perform defined analytic process chains in the preparation of multiple types of drilling data leading up to answer products for both internal and external client use. While these processes are documented, they are still in development and will change. The Analyst will assist in procedural recommendations to improve the function and efficiency of these process chains.

 

The position will work under the direction of the Drilling Mechanics Engineer. 

 

Detailed Description

  • Collate well meta data from directional drilling and MWD operations sources
  • Report data issues and errors back to data owners and assist in mediation
  • Routinely extract wells public data and process for marketing purposes
  • Become proficient in about a dozen directional drilling data analysis processes
  • Run several internal proprietary software packages
  • Assist in curating bit run data for client quarterly performance reviews
  • Become proficient in Electronic Drilling Recorder (EDR) data extraction
  • Assist in the analytics documentation and training material development
  • Other duties as assigned
 

Job Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with department representatives and management, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work effectively with others in a team based environment to accomplish company goals
  • Proficient with accuracy and attention to details
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience with medium size data sets or long arrays
  • Some exposure to scripting with SQL, Matlab, or Python
Additional Details:

· Work is primarily in a climate controlled/office environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
