People Communication Manager - Internal Communications

As we strengthen our global communications function, we are seeking to recruit an exceptional senior internal communications professional for the role of People Communication Manager.

The role:

The People Communication Manager will report to the Director of Internal Communications and work closely with the Chief People Officer and the HR leadership team of the company.

This role is two-fold:
  • To define and execute internal communication engagement programs to support Schlumberger's people agenda together with, and supported by, the global internal communications team
  • To shape and execute the communication strategy for the HR function

Key responsibilities:

Work in conjunction with the Director of Internal Communications and the HR Leadership team to:
  • Manage the content plan and campaigns for people initiatives that are driven by HR in line with strategic and operational requirements
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communication channels and leverage the portfolio to communicate with HR and employees, ensuring the alignment of internal and external messages and communications
  • Plan and organize regular events which encourage two-way dialogue between the HR Leadership Team and the Function as well as colleagues in different teams to encourage knowledge sharing
  • Interpret internal communications data and user feedback to evaluate and improve internal communications and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders on cross-function campaigns around diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and mental health
  • Advise internal clients and business partners on communications best practices

Knowledge and Skills for the Job:
  • Requires minimum of BA or BS qualification in Journalism, English, Marketing, or related field or at least 5-7 years communication experience
  • Experience of working closely with senior managers and strong experience of building networks and relationships to deliver results
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to influence and maintaining confidentiality, where necessary
  • IT skills including use of social media (including Yammer), content management, word processing, spreadsheets, email, image editing, PowerPoint
  • Ability to review online analytics and monitor external best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own workload effectively but also to be flexible and adapt/respond to emerging issues, short deadlines and other demands or challenges
  • Able to work independently or in a team environment
